I had a hard disk drive fault and I replaced it, but I had to completely erase the entire drive contents, need to know how to reinstall system files to get my computer back to working

Greetings @Melanie7874

Welcome to the HP Forum.

You may be able to do a HP Cloud Recovery if your PC qualifies. Check HP cloud recovery instructions at this HP Site.

You would need a second PC to create the bootable USB operating system recovery drive. This USB drive can then be used to install the HP OS image to the new drive.

You could also get the correct OS image, I don't know if your PC is using W10 or W11, from Microsoft if your PC does not qualify for a HP Cloud Recovery.

Let the Forum know if you need additional assistance.

Regards
