Quick backstory, my first hp pavillion came with 4GB ram single channel, but one day it suddenly wont boot up.
We took it to a shop and the problem got resolved, but they changed the ram to only 2GB.
We thought that the problem was with the ram stick, so we stuck with 2GB for awhile.
Now here comes our second hp pavillion, same model and all. It also comes with 4GB in single channel.
We tried inserting the ram ( The 4GB stick that came with our first pavillion ) and it works just fine!!
Now im trying to find out why my previous pavillion couldnt boot with it's original ram stick, it detects the sticks fine in the start up screen, but when it tries to boot, it's just stuck on the windows logo and the loading wheel doesn't shwo up. :(((
Some things i suspect is the bios update i performed, it worked fine after the update, but it stopped working weeks after.
The second pavillion comes with the original bios and it works fine.
