I would like to add a larger HDD. It shows up in UEFI but not BIOS or Windows disk manager

I installed a NvM2 drive on the motherboard with the operating system.  Computer boots fine.  I wanted to use a 10T HDD in the now open bay for storage.  The drive is not detected in BIOS on boot.  In System diagnostics it is visible in UEFI.  The drive is not showing in Windows Disk manager.  It is formatted NTSC GBR.  I can see the drive in Windows 10 when in an external USB housing.  Is this just a size issue and would formatting into 2T partitions solve the problem?  I am assuming that the motherboard bios is the limiting factor, but I could be wrong

Thank you for the reply I guess I had a typo in my question.  The drive is already initialized to GPT.  I think my question involves the BIOS more than windows.  I can see the drive as a 10T drive in HP system diagnostics that I reach in the BIOS menu (i think it was F2) but not in the storage option of the BIOS.  Is it possible to boot into the UEFI and not the BIOS or are they the same thing and I can't use the 10T in this system
