Hi @CrossfitEd,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out!
I understand your experiencing Secure Boot Violation message, dont worry let me help you through it.
Could you kindly share the exact HP model number of your laptop or desktop?
Did this error appear after a recent Windows update or BIOS/firmware update?
Are you able to access the BIOS/Setup menu when the system starts (usually by pressing Esc or F10)?
Have you recently installed any new hardware or changed boot settings?
Here are few steps you can try :
- Enter BIOS Setup: Restart your PC and press Esc or F10 repeatedly to open BIOS.
- Check Secure Boot settings: In BIOS, look under Security or Boot Options. Make sure Secure Boot is enabled, or try toggling it off temporarily to see if the system boots.
- Restore BIOS defaults: In BIOS, select “Restore Defaults” or “Load Setup Defaults,” then save and exit.
- Update BIOS firmware: If possible, download the latest BIOS update for your model from HP’s support website https://support.hp.com/ using another device.
- Check boot device: Ensure your primary hard drive/SSD is listed as the first boot option.
I hope this helps.
I'm an HP Employee.
