It recognized new SSD, create partitions and start loading OS, But after OS files installing 100%, reboot and giving error "The digital signature couldn't be verified"! before the finalizing OS and user profile.
Seems like motherboard still looking for old SSD. Is there any step i am missing before start loading new SSD with OS?
Any help please.

Hi @szuz
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query.
I understand that you replaced the failed SSD in your HP ENVY Desktop 795-0020 and were able to start the Windows 11 installation process successfully. Since the installation proceeds normally until the first restart and then displays the message "The digital signature couldn't be verified," this issue is unlikely to be related to the system searching for the old SSD. Instead, it may indicate a problem with the installation media, Secure Boot configuration, or the boot files being created on the new drive.
I would request you to please follow the steps:
- Enter the BIOS by pressing F10 during startup and restore the BIOS default settings.
- Verify that the system is set to UEFI mode and that Legacy Support is disabled.
- If Secure Boot is enabled, temporarily disable it and attempt the installation again. If the installation completes successfully, Secure Boot can be re-enabled afterward.
- Recreate the Windows 11 installation USB using the latest version of the Microsoft Media Creation Tool, as a corrupted installation image can also trigger digital signature errors during setup.
- During Windows Setup, select Custom Installation, delete all partitions on the new SSD, allow Windows to recreate the partitions automatically, and then proceed with the installation.
If the issue persists after recreating the installation media and resetting the BIOS settings, please let us know the exact wording of the error message and confirm whether the new SSD is detected correctly in the BIOS. Additionally, please provide the make and model of the replacement SSD so we can assist you further.
Take care and have an amazing day!

Hi Pallipurath
Thanks for the time to explain bellow steps.
I did try 2 different SSDs (InLand & Samsung) both works fine on other systems.
Boot media (Wind 11 usb) is also good and tested on other systems, works fine.
I always use EFUI secure boot on BIOS to load Win 11.
As you suggest, i will try on legacy boot and let you know by the end on the day.

Syed

Hi @szuz
Thank you or responding.
Thank you for the update, and I appreciate you taking the time to perform those checks.
It's good to know that you have already verified the SSDs on another system and confirmed that the Windows 11 installation media is working correctly. Since the hardware and installation media have been ruled out, the issue appears to be isolated to the system's firmware or BIOS configuration.
I appreciate your ready to test using Legacy Boot. However, please note that Windows 11 officially requires UEFI boot mode with Secure Boot enabled. The Legacy Boot test is intended only as a troubleshooting step to help determine whether the issue is related to the UEFI/Secure Boot configuration or another BIOS setting.
Have a good day.

Hi Pallipurath,
So seems like issue is with nvme port on motherboard.
Legacy BIOS setting also failed the OS install with same error.
But i used another SSD on SATA port and it went through fine with default BIOS settings.
I know SATA port is not as fast as nvme port but at least system is up and working fine.
Thanks for all your help.
