At boot, bios displays a screen for about 3 or 4 seconds at the bottom of which is says "keyboard error".  Then it says press esc to enter setup below that.  But in that 3 or 4 seconds of display I do nothing and it continues to boot properly and everything works fine.  How can I eliminate this error.  I see many posts in this community and on the internet but they all address people who get the keyboard error screen and then nothing happens.  But mine , as I say, just continues on without a problem..  But each bootup displays keyboard error.

@rickhow Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you are getting a keyboard error.

Try updating the computer, this will install the latest updates -

Step 1 Windows Updates -

1) In the search box, type, and open Windows Updates.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Step 2 Install updates using HP Support Assistant

  1. In the search box, type, and open HP Support Assistant.
  2. Check for updates.
  3. If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Note: If you do not have HP Support Assistant installed, Click here to download the same.

Please update the BIOS and check.
