@Isha04, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.

I'm here to help you get your laptop powered back on.

If your HP laptop is not turning on at all (no lights, no fan noise, no display), please try the following steps:

Perform a Hard Reset

This helps clear any residual electrical charge that might be preventing startup.

For laptops with removable battery:

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Disconnect the AC adapter.
  3. Remove the battery.
  4. Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds.
  5. Reconnect the battery and AC adapter.
  6. Try turning it on.

For laptops with non-removable battery:

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Disconnect the AC adapter.
  3. Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds.
  4. Reconnect the AC adapter.
  5. Try turning it on.

Check the Power Adapter and Charging Port

  • Ensure the power adapter is securely connected and the LED on the adapter or charging port is lit.
  • Try a different wall outlet.
  • If available, test with another compatible HP adapter.

Look for Signs of Power

  • Any LED lights blinking?
  • Fan noise or keyboard backlight?
  • If yes, the laptop may be stuck in a boot loop or have a display issue.

Try an External Display

  • Connect your laptop to an external monitor or TV using HDMI or VGA.
  • Power on the laptop and check if the external display shows anything.

BIOS Recovery (if applicable)

Some HP laptops support BIOS recovery using key combinations.

  • Turn off the laptop.
  • Press and hold Windows key + B, then press and hold the Power button for 2-3 seconds.
  • Release all keys and wait for the BIOS recovery screen.

If none of the steps work, It may be a hardware issue (motherboard, power circuit, etc.). In that case, please visit the nearest HP authorized service center, the service team will check and assist you.
