Looking for latest BIOS for hp compaq 8200 elite cmt pc

 I am trying to find the most current BIOS for HP Compaq Elite 8200CMT PC. I have tried most of the posts and I am having difficulty finding. I am using win 10 64 bit. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi:

The latest BIOS was written to be run in W7.

It is version 02.33, which can be found under the W7 driver page for your PC.

There is one thing to be aware of...if you did not install W10 in EFI mode and you update the BIOS beyond version 02.28, the PC will take well over 2 minutes to restart from a warm boot.

If you installed W10 in EFI mode, use the F10 BIOS flash method to update the BIOS so you don't even have to be in Windows to update.

Get a reliable USB flash drive.  Format it with the FAT 32 file system.

Download and run the v02.33 bios file.  An information page will open.

Follow the instructions for the F10 Flash System ROM method.

Click on the Vew Contents of the DOS Flash Folder.

Copy the file contents of the DOS flash folder to your USB flash drive.

Restart the PC.  Tap the ESC key to get the menu of options.

Select the F10 system setup option.

On the file tab, select the Flash System ROM command.

Select the USB flash drive.

The PC should now see the BIOS update files on the flash drive.

Follow the on screen instructions to update the BIOS.

Thanks for your response and good info. I purchased several computers from a refurbishing company. They had Win 10 Pro installed when I received them. Can I determine if they installed W10 in EFI mode?

You're very welcome.

Yes, you can tell whether W10 was installed in Legacy or (U)EFI mode.

Click on the windows icon on the lower left of the taskbar>and from the list of programs, go to the Windows Administrative Tools folder.  The select the system information app.

Here is a screenshot of my Dell Optiplex 7020's system information Window (I am too lazy to go into the basement to fire up my HP 8200 Elite CMT).

I highlighted the line where it provides that information.  If yours says UEFI, you can update the BIOS to 02.33.

If it says Legacy, you can either update the BIOS to v02.28, or update to v02.33 and reinstall W10 in EFI mode.

You would select one of the EFI boot sources (DVD or USB flash drive) to install W10 in EFI mode.

The 2.33 Bios worked on all of the computers except 1. The Win 10 was installed in Legacy. Where can I download the older BIOS that works with Legacy install? Do I use the same F10 update with the older BIOS and Win 10 (Legacy)
