Hi , virtually every time I power-down the PC I have to do a manual reboot . The manual reboot can sometimes take several attempts over a period of time ( unplug , hold power button for 5-10 secs depending on whos instructions  ).

 

When I finally get it to power up most of the time I get a blue message box stating the CMOS Checksum is Invalid .. Is this the cause of the failure to switch on normally . Any ideas on how to fix this issue . Any advice much appreciate , regards Gary

Welcome to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

 

A checksum error means you may have a possible BIOS data integrity problem.

 

I would try replacing the CR2032 motherboard (MB) battery. This will also reset CMOS.

 

Disassemble the PC. Pull the existing CR2032 MB battery. Let the PC sit for about 15 minutes.

 

Install the new MB battery.
