Need a BIOS file for HP Pavilion Gaming - TG01-1160xt CTO

Hey There,

How can I get a non-executable BIOS file? My friend had a power blip while updating the BIOS on a TG01-1160xt CTO and now the BIOS is bricked. This model has NO BIOS recovery options.

Things that do not work:

Resetting CMOS

Holding WIN+b during boot

Holding b

Holding v

Turning on and repeatedly pressing any of those combos.

Machine gets power and spinning fans, then a black screen; lights won't even light on a keyboard.

The BIOS is clearly bricked. So before buying a new mobo or computer we're going to try a BIOS programming tool:

The only snafu in the whole process is you don't provide manual BIOS update files for this model. Only self-installing executables.

And before someone suggests it, I have downloaded this models BIOS file on another machine and have run the executable to see if there is a COPY or CREATE RESCUE FLASH option. The file it extracts to a download folder is simply another executable and running that file crashes the recovery machine, because it tries to install the BIOS. As stated earlier, there are NO recovery options for this machine. Unfortunately.

I've seen the guides for extracting files from executables and they aren't the simplest thing. Quite frankly it's more confusing than trying to program the bios with the above tool. It would be much easier if it were possible to get the manual bin file.

So... is that possible?

Preparing the USB Recovery Drive

Gather Required Information:

• Obtain the product number of your HP Pavilion Gaming - TG01-1160xt CTO. This information is typically found on a label on the back or side of the computer or on the box it shipped in.

Setup the BIOS Update on a USB Flash Drive:

Use a second computer with internet access to create a BIOS recovery USB flash drive.

Insert a blank USB flash drive into an available port on the second computer.

Go to the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.

Navigate to the product page for your computer.

Select "BIOS" from the list that displays and review any available BIOS updates for your model.
