I have discovered something which may well be important.
The original RAM is rated at 1.35V
Both sets of the new sticks are at 1.5V
From what I have read, this usually doesn't make a difference, BUT sometimes it does.
Can anyone confirm this may be the issue?

Supports the following:
PC3-12800 (DDR3-1600)
PC3-10600 (DDR3-1333)
But when you read the info about the motherboard itself, the Odense....

- So thanks for that HP, if I was given the correct information to begin with then I wouldn't have wasted the best part of two weeks banging my head against the wall.
