p6-2018es
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Product Name: p6-2018es

OS: Windows 10 (x64)

Original OS: Windows 7 (x64)

Motherboard: Foxconn 2ABF

BIOS Version/date: AMI 7.11, 8/23/2011

BIOS Mode: Legacy

Hi, I'm trying to update my system BIOS, in order to be able to install a new graphics card (NVIDIA 750TI), going through the steps indicated in the following link:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00007682

I've followed the steps until step 2.6, but when I was about to download the update, I realised that the motherboard indicated in this step ("Cupertino-H61/Cupertino2-H61") is different from the one I've got (I haven't changed it). So the question is, do I have to download this update although it comes for another motherboard or what should I do?

The link where I realised that is this one:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-p6-2000-desktop-pc-series/5151865/model...

PS: It's my first post, so I apologize if there's anything wrong.

The installer for the BIOS update 7.16 is predicated on your PC running Windows 7 and not Windows 10.  The safest way to install this BIOS update is to be running Windows 7.

I don't think that updating the BIOS to 7.16 is going to make the NVIDIA GTX 750 boot and work normally in your PC.

If you can find a HP version 8 BIOS for the Cupertino2 motherboard then let us know.:smileysurprised:

Then, is there any available solution?

Thanks for the quick response!

The listed BIOS isn't going to make the NVIDIA GTX 750 boot/work normally in the Cupertino-2 motherboard. However, it may prevent other issues.

it addresses two issues:

Resolves issue with system hang during POST when a touch-screen monitor is connected.

Resolves issue with F12 hot-key malfunction after loading BIOS defaults via any method.

I ended up installing the referred BIOS update and everything went fine.

Actually, I had to do some more research to deal with the GPU problem.

Thanks for all the help!
