Pavilion desktop 500
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

A slightly annoying problem - PC needs to be powered on and off twice before it will get past the HP logo and boot Windows. When powered on the first time, it displays the HP logo indefinitely. Switched off and back on again, it will briefly display the HP logo and then starts loading Windows. As it should. BIOS is to latest date.

It's not a big problem, but would be nice if there's a solution?

The pc had bigger problems with Windows unable to boot. Tried to resolve the issue with all available repair actions, but without success. So I reinstalled Windows, but not before resetting the BIOS settings to default. Turns out the harddrive mode was set to RAID. Probably to accommodate the 16 GB SSD as cache disk with Intel RST. Set it to AHCI, reinstalled Windows and things work fine again - no more double-start needed. Also ran an extensive harddisk test, which turned out OK.

When Windows was working OK, I set the SSD for ReadyBoost, for what it's worth...

You might have a disk-drive that is starting to "fail".

After starting it, run the HP Hardware Diagnostics, to see if you have any problems.
