I purchased an HP27ec monitor and it somehow causes my Pavilion p6 PC to hang during boot-up. I've tried disabling some the Windows 10 security features to no avail. In my 35 years of using PCs I've never encounter this problem when connecting a monitor.

@Jims85, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Have you tried with an alternate monitor to check if the issue persists?
For more info on how to connect an external monitor, refer to - Connecting Monitors and TVs to Your PC
Install updates using HP Support Assistant
- In the search box, type and open HP Support Assistant.
- Check for updates.
- If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.
Note: If you do not have HP Support Assistant installed, Click here to download the same.
Also, check for any pending windows update. Reboot the computer.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
