Hi, Andrew:

I'm surprised those drivers didn't work for you.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to try these newer drivers that I zipped up and attached below.

If they don't work, you will probably have to take your PC into your local repair shop and hope they can reinstall W11 on it.

I will try the new drivers tonight and update you.    Thanks very much!

Hi Paul,

I identified the root cause of the issue but still need your expertise on a workaround or solution.

I tried the updated drivers you provided but received the same errors or BSOD when attempting to load them.  I then threw in the towel and decided to take the PC into my local repair shop.  Prior to taking it in, I removed a secondary (non-bootable) SSD that was in the PCIe adapter that I installed when I first purchased the PC.

I then decided to try booting the PC one last time and to my surprise the automatic repair kicked in and the PC booted normally (without the secondary SSD).  I put the secondary SSD back into the PC and it failed to boot as before.  I checked the BIOS boot order and OS Boot Manager is the first choice and I confirmed that the correct SSD (with the OS) was listed under OS Boot Manager.  Even though it points to the correct (Samsung) SSD with the OS, it appears that (when inserted) it only wants to boot from the (WD Black) SSD which has no OS partition.

I have been using this secondary SSD for 2+ years without any issues.  All UEFI tests pass on the SSD.  The Internet references numerous instances of others having similar boot issues, but I haven't had time to dig deeper for potential fixes.

I plan to purchase a SSD external USB adapter so I could check data integrity and (hopefully) access the data on the secondary SSD.  I imagine that Read and Read-Write performance will drop significantly with only 10 GB throughput, but at least the PC is up and running and all data accessible.

In summary, the BIOS (OS Boot Manager) is pointing to the SSD with the OS, yet (if installed) it keeps trying to boot from the SSD without the OS.   Do you have any suggestions on resolving my issue?

Thanks very much!

Andrew

Hi, Andrew:

I'm glad you were able to get your PC working again without the SSD in the PCIe adapter installed.

But why it doesn't boot from the OS SSD when it is installed and when the drive has no OS on it, unfortunately, I wouldn't know how to fix that problem.

Hi Paul,

No worries, you have been great!  I am very grateful for your help!

Would there be any value in me posting a new issue on the forum specific to the SSD boot issue?  Perhaps someone else may have a workaround or solution?

Thanks again for all of your help!

Andrew

You're very welcome, Andrew.

I would definitely post a new discussion on that specific issue.

Someone may have faced a similar problem and might know some things you can try.
