Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I have a weird issue with my computer. I'm pretty sure it is a GPU issue.

For a while, my computer if overworked (game or engineering program) would stop, give beep code 3.3 (which i'm pretty sure means GPU issue [dedicated Nvidia 1070]). After the beeps, the computer would keep performing the game/program but without sound, needing to restart the computer in order to gain back sound. POST code 3.3 is "The embedded controller has timed out waiting for BIOS to return from graphics initialization." It recommends to reseat my GPU or replace it.

Now here is my current issue, I just got a new monitor, in order to run a dual set-up in order to multi-task. I probably pushed the computer too hard (I had not done this in a while because cooler weather) and I got the same beep code. But this time, upon restart I got the Beep code 3.3 again (this had never happened before. Upon turning on my computer, POST code 3.3 will run 5 times, then the computer will start normally.

The weird part is, is that I will only get POST code 3.3 if the new monitor is plugged in with a DisplayPort cable. But I need to use this type of cable to get the 144Hz and 1440p of the monitor. If it is plugged in with DVI or HDMI, no POST failure. Also, if I have my old monitor plugged in any way, I get no POST failure. Even if I have the monitor unplugged, turn on the PC, then immediately plug in the new monitor with the DP cord, there is no failure, it is only if the new monitor is plugged in from the start with DP.

All drivers are updated, all previous driver updates are cleaned out, etc. My BIOS is up to date.  Any idea what is going on?

I'm not the best with PC's hence the pre-built computer, but I figure I probably have to reseat my GPU or it is busted. I don't want to screw up my computer more by attempting a reseat if I don't have to (its a pretty complicated build inside).

EDIT: I have messed around with the set-up quite a bit. It is currently running and booting up correctly with the old monitor plugged in with the DP and the new monitor using a new HDMI. So it can't be the computer port or the cable. So is it a monitor issue?
