HP Compaq 8300 Elite
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, it would seem that my HP Compaq Elite 8300 personal computer no longer has a working power button, however, the motherboard is still receiving power.

I have tried plugging into a different wall source, pressing and holding the CMOS button for 20 seconds, and removing components to diagnose any problems to no avail.

Any more suggestions on what I could do?

There should be two wires from the "back" of your power-button that connect to two pins on the motherboard. Check that those two wires are still connected to the motherboard.

No wires, just a single button on the motherboard.

it seems like the power-button is on the front panel, not on the motherboard.

Yes the power button is on the front panel, but when that button is pushed it also pushes a button on the motherboard that is directly behind it.
