Prodesk 405 g6 mini - Bios settings

HP Recommended
Prodesk 405 g6 mini
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello everybody,

I was wondering to buy a Prodesk 405 g6 mini with a 4650GE processor (integrated graphic) and 16GB ram, which I think may be a great upgrade instead of my full-tower actual pc.

I'm a little concerned about BIOS setting and, before buying, I'd like to check with the HP Community.

1) How many VRAM is dedicated to the GPU? Can I increase the dedicated VRAM by BIOS?

2) Can I modify by BIOS (or through software) the fan setting, for example let them start from a lower temp instead of the default temp? I remember that in old HP computers I acceded to the advanced setting tab in BIOS and these parameters are available (photo below).

I also own am Elitebook 840 G6 and I don't see that options, but it's a laptop with different mobo)

Thank you in advance!

PS: please don't say that "the default BIOS settings are optimal and does not require mods". I'd like to modify these settings according to the workloads and the pc location. Just don't want to buy and return a pc in two days.

Given that your computer has 16 GB of RAM, and that Windows 10 runs quite well with "only" 4 GB of RAM, does it really matter how much RAM gets "dedicated" to the GPU?

Can you add some more cooling-fans, to reduce the interior temperature, if you think that doing so will help?

Hi Itsmyname ( 😁 ), thank you for the answer!

I understood that ryzen APU comes with 512MB dedicated vram by default and some motherboard bios let set up to 2GB of VRAM.

According to a Adobe Premiere table, I'd like to dedicate a (not shared) 2GB.

SD Footage – 1 GB is fine
HD Footage – 1 GB is min. – while 2 GB is better
2K Footage – 3 GB is min. – while 4 GB is better
4K Footage – 4 GB is min. – while more than 4GB is better

Anyway, maybe you're right saying that shared ram is ok as well.

Meanwhile, I found a trick (by adding a key in Regedit) that allows to modify dedicated VRAM directly in Windows. I suppose  it works on this machine (but I've never try) .

About fans, unfortunately the mini size of this case doesn't let me install any fan.
