Hi  @gasman24,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand you’re seeing a Secure Boot Violation – Invalid signature detected message.
Could you please share the exact HP laptop or desktop model you’re using?

In the meantime, here are few  steps you can try:

1.Access BIOS/UEFI Settings

Secure Boot settings are controlled from the BIOS/UEFI firmware.

Restart your PC → Press Esc or F10 repeatedly during startup

Enter the BIOS Setup Utility

Navigate to the System Configuration or Boot Options menu

2.Check Secure Boot Status

Ensure Secure Boot is enabled and properly configured.

Locate Secure Boot option

If it’s set to Disabled, try enabling it

If already enabled, toggle it off → save → reboot → then re-enable

3.Restore Factory Keys

Invalid signature errors often occur if Secure Boot keys are missing or corrupted.

In BIOS, find Restore Factory Keys or Install Default Keys

Apply changes and save settings

Restart your computer

4.Update BIOS Firmware

Outdated BIOS may cause signature mismatches.

Visit HP’s official support website https://support.hp.com/

Download the latest BIOS update for your model

Apply update carefully following HP instructions

5.Check Boot Device

Sometimes the boot device is not signed correctly.

Ensure you’re booting from the correct drive

If using external media, confirm it supports Secure Boot

Try disconnecting other drives or USB devices

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
