HP All-in-One - 22-c0063w

I have the HP All-In-One 22-C0xx and it shut off accidentally. When I try to turn it back on, I get an error screen (a red box), saying the signature isn't found.  I've searched and found that I need to update the BIOS. after searching the HP support, there is NO UPDATE found.  My pc was working just fine until I accidentally turned it off by mistake.  I have too much saved on it, I don't want to have to replace it. Please help!!

Hi @Snowpony,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your concern, especially when important files are stored on the PC.

The good news is that this "Invalid Signature Detected" or "Secure Boot Violation" message typically does not indicate data loss, and your personal data is usually unaffected. The error normally occurs when the BIOS is unable to validate part of the Windows boot process or Secure Boot configuration.

Please try the following steps:

Step 1: Disable Secure Boot temporarily:

  1. Turn the PC off completely.
  2. Power it on and immediately tap F10 repeatedly to enter BIOS Setup.
  3. Navigate to Security or Boot Options.
  4. Locate Secure Boot and set it to Disabled.
  5. Save changes and exit the BIOS.

Check whether Windows starts normally.

Step 2: Restore Secure Boot Factory Keys:

If Windows starts successfully:

  1. Restart the PC and press F10 to re-enter the BIOS.
  2. Navigate to Secure Boot Configuration.
  3. Select Restore Factory Keys, Install Default Keys, or a similarly named option.
  4. Save changes and restart the system.
  5. Return to BIOS and re-enable Secure Boot if the system boots normally.

Step 3: Load BIOS Defaults

If the issue persists:

  1. Enter the BIOS using F10.
  2. Press F9 to load BIOS defaults.
  3. Confirm the change.
  4. Press F10 to save and exit.

Step 4: Check for BIOS Updates

If the system still will not boot, check the HP support page for your exact product model. Some Secure Boot-related startup issues may require a BIOS update if one is available for the device. Official HP® Support

Please let us know:

  • The exact wording of the error message.
  • Whether Windows boots after disabling Secure Boot.
  • Whether you can access the BIOS menu successfully.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a great day.

I'm an HP Employee.
