Hi,
I am trying to clone the SATA mechanical disk to a faster SDD on my parent's pc, which is a HP prodesk 400 G3.
I bought an SSD from crucial and used the one mont Macriu reflect license to do that.
My mistake was probably not to copy all the partition but just the first three (not the recovery ones) to new disk because it is smaller (from 1Tb to 480gb).
When it finished, I removed the old disk and left just the new one, then I tuned on the pc but I got a 0xc000000e error. I tried all the guides I found (rebuild bcd, etc etc) but nothing worked. I ended up receiving the 0xc0000001 error.
So I decided to install a fresh win10 copy on the disk using the media creation tool (I can't install win11 for compatibility issues) but the install asks me for drivers without telling me for which device... So i tried to download several drivers for intel storage but nothing. I tried also to browse the system32 folder that was copied on the new but no luck.
No repair disk or anything else works, I get stuck on the diagnose pc...
So i reconnected the old disk but... the beavhiour is the same.
I updated the bios to the latest version, reset all the bios settings to default but nothing.
I tried to install win 10 on the old disk because I thought it was some compatibility problem with the SSD disk but it asks for the same drivers...
I am trying now to do a recovery from a previous system point (this morning) but it seems it takes forever...
So... now I can't use the old disk and I cannot do a fresh install...
Any suggestion on how to try to exit from this mess?
Thanks!

Hi:
Try using the HP cloud recovery client software to make a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall Windows, the drivers and the software that originally came with the PC on the new SSD>
Here is an info link for how to use the utility:
