Upgrading The GPU of The HP Omen X 900-140VT Gaming

Hello, I would like to ask any HP Experts out there or anyone in the community to help me figure out this question. I am currently considering buying the HP Omen X 900-140VT Gaming PC, and I am wondering before I buy, how many GPU slots are there? Can you upgrade your graphics card to a 2.5 slot card like the Zotac AMP Extreme 1080 TI? Will there be enough room in the case to place the graphics card in? Please help, thank you.

You can check out your motherboard diagram here.

You will have no problem using a 2.5 slot graphics card.

The Zotac requires a minimum 600 watt power supply. You should also be good with this spec. Verify you have two eight pin supplemental PCIe power connectors to power the card.

The only problem would be the length of the Zotac card @ 12.8 inches.

You will have to open the chassis and measure.

Please be aware you will have to modify the HP BIOS to initialize the Zotac card. HP recovery media will be impaired when you have the new Zotac card installed. You can always use Windows 10 Recovery options in the future to rebuild the system should this unfortunate event occur.

You can look at the barebone chassis used to build your specific model here.

HP does not specify the maximum length available in this chassis for graphics card upgrades. HP also uses modified GTX 1080 cards but does not provide dimensions of the cards.

Maybe a different forum member who has this chassis can provide some feedback.

A 12.8 inch graphics card will usually not fit in a Micro ATX chassis.
