HP Compaq 6005 Pro Small Form
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

When I power up instead of booting it goes into a blinking red lite and a 5 beep sequence.

I am assuming my Hard drive is fried.

Hi:

The 5 beeps means there is a memory error of some kind.

Might be a bad memory module, or you just may have to remove and reseat the memory modules.

The first thing I would do is to remove and reseat the memory modules to see if that resolves the problem.

If that fails to resolve the problem, remove all the memory modules and test them one at a time in the primary memory slot (normally the black slot or the one closest to the processor).

Hopefully, you will isolate the bad memory chip, and you can then buy a replacement.

If nothing resolves the problem and the 5 beeps continue, then the motherboard has failed and needs to be replaced if you plan on fixing the PC.

Thank you Paul,

I did like you said I removed and replace Memory sticks and it booted right up.
