I can't find the updated bios program.

I'm trying to install geforce gt710 i was under the impression I should disable the on-board graphics first

Hi:

I don't think the GT 710 is going to work in your model. 

Your PC normally needs a UEFI BIOS to run a nVidia graphics card beyond the GT 6xx series.

When you install a video card in that model, the onboard graphics is automatically disabled.

There are no BIOS settings to change.

Before installing the new video card, make sure you go into the device manager, click to expand the display adapters device manager category, right click on the Intel HD graphics adapter listed there, select Uninstall and check the uninstall driver box if one is present.  Then shut down, unplug the PC and install the video card.

If you want to try updating the BIOS, you have to do it using the F10 BIOS flashing method since you are running W10.

When you run the file, an information window will open.

Read the instructions under the F10 Setup BIOS Flashing section.

Basically, here is what you do...

Get a USB flash drive.   Format it with the FAT 32 file system.

Under the F10 Setup BIOS Flashing section, there is a blue link labeled View Contents of DOS Flash Folder.

Click on that link, and copy all of the files in that folder to your USB flash drive.

Restart the PC, tap the F10 key to get access to the BIOS.

Select the File tab, Flash system ROM command.

Select the USB flash drive.

The PC should now 'see' the BIOS update files on the USB flash drive.

Follow the onscreen instructions to update the BIOS.

Deleting the native driver solved the issue.
