error message on the screen that says check HDMI input. But I don’t want a monitor, I just want to go on my **bleep** computer. Any suggestions?

If you want to go on your computer, you are going to need a monitor. Make sure there is an HDMI, VGA, DP, or other display-type cord plugged into both the back of your PC and the back of the monitor you wish to use. Otherwise, the monitor will have no way to display the information the PC is sending it. If you have a cord plugged in, it would be worth trying to switch out the cord or even trying to use a different monitor.
