Hello Djn-HP

If there is a issue with your FAN this could be due to a hardware or software issue. I would like to assist with the following steps:

1.) Verify if you hear any grinding Noise or see any obstruction in your Fan

2.)  Use a can of compressed air to clean out all of the dust from all fans in the PC.

(NOTE: If possible you can take out the fan and try it in another device, to verify if it is a hardware issue.)

3.) Review the latest BIOS version at this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

4.) Install the Hardware Diag tool to review if a Hardware issue is detected:

If you have any other questions or need more clarity, please advise.
