my HP Pavilion 590-p0086 will not start, blank screen and 8 beebs

My new system was purchased at a discount as "open box". It ran great for a week, until I tried to fix a noisy Video Card fan. 

Now with the new Nvidia GT 710 or no card installed, I get a black screen and 8 beeps followed by two high beeps and two low tone beeps. 

Checked inside, Reseated the 8gb RAM, replaces the mother board battery and no change. 

I brought to Geek Squad at Best Buy. Waisted my time. They would not fix and would not let me leave it there so the regular Monday team could look at it.

According to the specs I could find, your model PC has integrated graphics -- meaning it has a graphics chip soldered to the motherboard and video jacks on the back of the case.

With some PCs, when you connect an add-on graphics card and plug the monitor into that, the video switches automatically and you can see the boot messages and Windows login without issues. 

But with others, to add a video card, you have to do the following:

1) Power off the PC and insert the card

2) Reboot the PC but go into the BIOS/UEFI settings (which are set to the integrated chip by default) and change them to point to the video card.

3) Save the changes and reboot

In these same PCs, to remove a video card, you have to repeat this process but change the settings to point to the onboard video chip.

My guess is that yours is one of these, otherwise, when you removed the video card and rebooted, it would have switched to the onboard video chip automatically -- and you would not be getting the black screen you are seeing.

So, you might have to reinsert the original video card and see if the display returns.  If it does, then change the settings to the onboard video chip and shut down.  Remove the card, reboot, and you should then get video from the onboard chip. Power down, insert the new video card and reboot. Go into the settings and change them to the new video card. Power off and reboot.

I know this is a lot of work, but with the new PCs, you don't have to mess around with any of this -- so I don't know why yours is not just doing this automatically.

about the same issue,  i have a pavillon 590-p0090

i ve installed and updated  window 10 updated driver from hp support page

everything is going well.

Then after turning the pc off, i install the asus radeon rx 550 4gb i ve bougth for it, plug the screen in the video card and turn the pc. : fan start but no bip as far as i m concern. (i don t remember it bipping when working well before either anyway)

i tried to plug in the motherboard hdmi socket, still no signal.

I turn off the pc remove the radeon card, plug into the motherboard hdmi, still no signal.

turn off, remove motherboard batery for a minute, then turn on, still no signal

Try to start the computer with window 10 recovery in a usb, still nothing

I m out of idea and about to ask newegg for a RMA.

At this point i don't care much about installing or not the rx 550, integrated intel would be ok
