Hi @bppan,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Based on your description, your OMEN 30L Desktop PC GT13-1000a is not completing the Power-On Self-Test (POST). The symptoms—fans spinning at high speed before slowing down, no display signal, no USB power to the keyboard, inability to enter the BIOS, and the GPU becoming warm—typically indicate that the motherboard is not fully initializing the system. This can be caused by BIOS corruption, a power supply (PSU) issue, or a motherboard failure.

Try the following steps:

  1. Perform an HP BIOS Recovery:

    • On another PC, download the latest BIOS for your OMEN 30L from the Official HP® Support and create a BIOS recovery USB.

    • Insert the USB into a rear USB port.

    • Press and hold Windows + B, then press the Power button for 2–3 seconds.

    • Release the Power button but continue holding Windows + B for up to 40 seconds to check if BIOS recovery starts.

  2. Boot with Minimal Hardware:

    • Disconnect power and remove all external USB devices, secondary drives, and extra RAM.

    • Leave only the CPU, one RAM module in the primary slot, and the graphics card installed.

    • Verify the 24-pin motherboard and 8-pin CPU power connectors are fully seated.

  3. Check the Power Supply:

    • If there is still no display or USB power after the above steps, test the system with a known-good compatible ATX power supply. This helps determine whether the issue is with the PSU or the motherboard.

If the BIOS recovery does not start and USB devices still receive no power, the motherboard is the most likely point of failure.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a great day!

I'm an HP Employee.
