HP pavilion All-in-One 23-qq105na
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

when desktop computer is put or goes in sleep mode, screen won't come back on again . The only way to get the computer working again is to swtich the main power off and on, thus crashing the computer and starting it again. Sometime it does try to come on  by flickering a few vertical White lines and then black sceen. I did try to adjust some setting following the guidance of the virtual message on HP but it didn't help out.

Apart form that issue the desktop work perfectly well.

Hi @Faisal55 ,

Thank you for posting on HP Forums,

The Barachiel is at your service.

I understand you are in need of support,

I'll be glad to help you out, however, for an accurate solution I will need more details:

Have you attempted any steps on your own before posting on the HP Forums?

When was the last time it worked without these issues?

In the meantime, please try the steps mentioned below:

Step 1: Enabling the Keyboard in Windows

Skip this step if the computer does not enter sleep mode or if the computer wakes unexpectedly.

Follow these steps to enable your keyboard to wake your computer from sleep mode:

  1. In Windows, search for and open the Device Manager.

  2. Click the arrow next to Keyboards and double-click the name of your keyboard.

  3. If the Power Management tab is available, proceed to the next step.

If the Power Management tab is not available, click the Change Settings button if it appears below the Device status box. The same Keyboard Properties window opens with the Power Management tab available.

If you are prompted for an Administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

  1. Click the Power Management tab and make sure that the box next to Allow this device to wake the computer is checked.

  2. Click OK, and then test to make sure that the keyboard can now wake the computer. If the computer still cannot wake from sleep mode, continue using these steps.

  3. For instructions on how to update the BIOS of your computer, see one of the following HP support documents: Updating the BIOS (Notebooks)

For more steps, please Click here

Please reply with the details for further assistance.

Eager to help!

I have the same problem as the original poster.

I have noted Barrachiel's suggested solutions, but they relate to the computer not waking from sleep mode.

In my case (and I think the original poster's), the computer will wake from sleep mode in the usual way byt depressinga  key on the key board or moving the mouse, but the screen does not wake.

The problem is solely with the screen, and I would be very grateful for any help with how to solve that.

Thank you

Hi,

The problem is related to the Intel integrated video driver. Sounds wierd I know, but it's proven by HP as a known issue, and I've seen / fixed it on about a dozen machines from the 23/27-q series.

The problem starts when Windows 10 Update installs a newer verdion of the Intel Display driver. You need to DOWNGRADE the driver.

Solution 1: Download and install this driver: https://support.hp.com/au-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-23-q100-all-in-one-desktop-pc-series-to... - Get the version: 21.20.16.4639 (keep a copy of the driver, as you MAY experience the issue again if Windows updates it again)

Solution 2: In power settings, in control panel, allow the screen to turn off, but DO NOT allow it to sleep.

Hope this helps.

Cheers, Michael.
