HP Z840
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

second processor on hp z840 has failed, can I continue using the workstation by removing just the failed processor or there is  a configuration to do?

How "failed" is it?

Does Windows start and run normally, but maybe slowly, with the failed processor still connected?

You cannot harm anything by physically removing the failed processor, if, of course, you do it carefully. Windows should use the remaining processor, after detecting the empty slot.
