i have just switched to windows lite and would like to recover my old (windows 10) key i know my serial number what should i do ???

The Windows product key is encrypted in your notebook's BIOS if it came from HP with W10 installed.

 

I don't know anything about the operating system you installed.

 

If it supports installing apps from the Microsoft Store, you can install the free Showkey Plus app and it will show you the Windows product key and the version of Windows the key is good for.

Otherwise, you can try obtaining the product key by following the guidance at the link below:
