Z620
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm trying to add a standard Samsung SSD as the system drive of my Z620 on either SATA-0 or SATA-1.  The SATA-0 and SATA-1 connectors are 'hard mounted' in 3.5-inch drive bays 0 and 1 of the modular drive cage.   I have two 3.5-inch to 2.5-inch adapter brackets and, when inserted into the standard HP 3.5-inch drive trays, neither come even close to aligning the drive connectors to the cable connectors.  Does the Z620 require a special HP 3.5-inch to 2.5-inch adapter bracket?  Or maybe I'm overlooking something?  Thanks.

What you need is this (HP Part No. 668261-001);

SSD adapter.JPG

Just search for HP SSD adapter or HP 2.5" drive adapter. Do not buy a generic 2.5" to 3.5" drive adapter as the connectors won't line up when installed.

HP Z620 - Liquid Cooled E5-1680v2 @4.7GHz / 64GB Hynix PC3-14900R 1866MHz / GTX1080Ti FE 11GB / Quadro P2000 5GB / Samsung 256GB PCIe M.2 256GB AHCI / Passmark 9.0 Rating = 7147 / CPU 17461 / 2D 1019 / 3D 14464 / Mem 3153 / Disk 15451 / Single Threaded 2551

I used the item that is linked above. My setup is exactly like this (Image is from a reviewer from the Amazon link).

SSDSSD

Edit: I haven't had any issues with the adapter and it lines up properly when pushed into the mount. I have also tried the adapters and on all three slots and they lined up. Though, I am using a HDD for the SATA II slot now.
