4GB PC2-6400 DDR2 RAM 240-Pin 1.8V, DDR2 Memory Module *for AMD*

 I threw together a Win 11 system using an old desktop: p6637c, (BT438AA#AABA), w/ Pegatron NARRA5 MB. the chipset supports up to 8 GB ram. but, there's only 2 slots. i know versions of this mb have 4 slots. i have a chance to get a couple of inexpensive 4 gb ddr2 sticks: *PC2-6400 DDR2 4GB 800MHz 1.8V 240 PIN  MODULE *for AMD only*. with 30 day free return. will these work...maybe?

I can't find any posts on this forum where anyone installed 2 x 4 GB of memory in that motherboard.

I did give my opinion to another forum member who asked this question a few years ago, and suggested it wouldn't work.

You can do this to see how much memory your PC can actually support.

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

didn't work. but, then i removed the *Ex* at the end and i got a response of: 4 gb. i'm guessing it's a limitation set in the BIOS.
