HP Pavilion Desktop 590-p0xxx

Good day all. I have searched the forum for know. psu upgrades for this PC. I have purchased a new Ryzen 7 2700 chipset and installed 32g of RAM. Looking to update the PC so it will be a little more user friendly. Has anyone successfully added the PSU, L05757-800 to this case? Thank you.

@MPorter2023,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

Your HP Pavilion 590-p0197cb (5QB11AA) is fitted with the Sunflower motherboard (SSID: 8433), and according to: https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer?searchtext=5QB11AA, came with a 310-watt power supply with p/n: L10875-800 "Power Supply - GNRC PSU 310W SFF Entl18 FR Gold" -please confirm.

The question whether or not the 500-watt p/n: L05757-800 will fit/is compatible with your motherboard, is a good one.  I think you should be able to make it work, at least dimensionally, perhaps with some (minor) modifications to your case:

My recommendation is to simply try it out.

Thank you for the reply. Yes it is equipped with the OEM PSU you stated. I will source and order an OEM PSU and report back.

PSU was just delivered. Old PSU removed. It can easily fit the case with slight modifications for anyone curious.

@MPorter2023,

And all power connectors fit and the PSU powers your desktop just fine?

Yes. It shared the same power connectors as the 310W PSU with the additional connectors that would allow for a GPU upgrade. Powers up just fine.
