Hello, I’ve been looking to upgrade my Elite Desk 800 G1 USDT. After looking all over online, the details on which gpu’s specifically do and do not work with the computer are hazy at best. The best everyone agree’s upon is the M2200, which is a 55W card, but the MXM slot is only listed as 35W. Is the 35W listing a hard limit or just the max amount the stock psu can handle? If you can just buy a 230W psu for the 55W card, could you do the same for a 75W 1050 ti? I have a listing I’m looking at for a 1050 ti, but I want confirmation that it would work in my system with a powerful enough psu. There’s a single case of someone using a 1050 ti on Userbenchmark, but due to it being singular (no one else to my knowledge has used one) and undocumented in terms of setup and installation, I’m not sure how much I can trust it.

Welcome to our HP Community forum!
You nailed it: provide ample wattage to your USDT (230-watt charger) and the Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti (MXM) will work just fine in your EliteDesk 800 G1 USDT as this User showed the world for all to see and marvel: HP EliteDesk 800 G1 USDT Performance Results - UserBenchmark.
Make sure you add a heatsink to the card!
Kind Regards,
