Does this response also apply to my 8D37 motherboard on my brand new HP Omni Desktop?   I wish to install a 4TB SATA HDD.  Thank you.

@JRR67,

I need some more information: please type in System Information in your lower Windows search bar, click on System Information, and look to the right of "System Model" and "System SKU", and provide that information.

Kind Regards,

NonSequitur777,

Thank you and I apologize for lack of initial information.  When I review the System Information screen, here is the pertinent information that is shown:

Baseboard Product: 8D37

System Model: HP OmniDesk Desktop M02-0xxx

System SKU: B11B4AV

Thank you for your assistance.

Thanks, I got the cable adapter and found where to plug it in, but it isn't showing. Does it need another adapter for data as only the power one is plugged in?

@Jay69696969,

As I mentioned in an earlier post, you got the Mentali2 motherboard (SSID: 8D35) and this motherboard got two SATA data ports -one is labelled "SATA0" and the other is labelled "SATA1".  You need a SATA data cable from either SATA port to your SATA SSD/HDD drive.

Kind Regards,

@JRR67,

Sorry, I didn't see/wasn't notified of your post.

So, you got the "Carter" motherboard with SSID: 8D37 with part number: P20670-601.

You'll have to take a close look at your motherboard, and if I am right -see this picture: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/406206i1EDE51EC3E5AD4DA/image-dimensions/250..., your Carter motherboard doesn't have a 4-pin power supply port.  Meaning, you can't power a SATA SSD/HDD.

Kind Regards,
