OMEN 30L Desktop GT13-1xxx
Microsoft Windows 11

When adding third party 8GB Hyper X DD4-3200 CL 16 288-PIN to the this PC it won't boot.

Model OMEN 30L Desktop GT13-1xxx
Current Memory Size  8192 MB RAM
BIOS Date  12/06/2021
BIOS Revision F.13

I understand that RAM upgrades were problematic but thought that the most recent BIOS updates eliminated the issue.  Adding some extra RAM shouldn't be so difficult 🙂

Any feedback is appreciated!

@jwmi01,

From feedback I found online, it may be that the Omen 30L is finnicky when it comes to mismatched RAM.

Question: do you currently have this RAM installed: HP37D4U1S8ME-8XR - 8GB Memory Module, Hyper X Fury?

Like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/144145941431

If so, pair it with the exact same RAM or else it may not work.

If it doesn't work, the memory is definitely not compatible.
Quite difficult for some model, you must have exactly the same modules as the original, or very very close

Thanks for the info.  I think this is the issue and have probably made a typical "user error" here.  The RAM I purchased is HYPER X FURY 3200 CL-16 that was recommended from an online RAM matching site based on PC model.

The stick I pulled from the box is HP37D4U1S8ME as you indicated, and it shows as 1Rx8 XMP4 - 3733.

So it makes total sense that the third party hardware I have is mismatched.

Thanks all for the help, it's appreciated.  I'll check the actual hardware next time!  🙂
