I would like to expand with one or two SATA ports to connect additional harddrives.
Tested one PCI controller card but it was not discovered at boot, nor by operating system. Have checked that the PCI slot is activated in BIOS-settings.
Question:
Which controller card will work? Any suggestions? Could I order one from HP?

If you just need a data drive, use an external USB 3.0 to Sata drive enclosure.

The motherboard of my ProDesk 405 G2 MT 64bit Win 10 also only has the two SATA ports mentioned in this older query. I bought a SATA III 2-port card thinking I would now have 4 SATA ports available, one for the extra HDD.
The card was recognized right away, but adding the card has disabled the two ports on the motherboard. I don't want an external HDD so have disconnected the DVD device.
I can't find anything in Win 10 to let me discover the board's capabilities or features. Perhaps the MB only recognizes SATA II. Any idea why I don't have 4 ports? SN MXL43933RC. Thanks for any help.
