Omen Obelisk 875-1023
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello

I have an Omen by HP Obelisk Desktop 875-1023, purchased through Amazon US and still under warranty. I live on Guam, a US possession. I find that there are not quite enough USB ports, given the number of peripheral devices that I have. HP technical support views Guam residents as not part of the United States and the last support person in particular referred me to the correct country! This particular person could not or would not even confirm that I could add USB ports to my computer. Hence, I seek assistance at the HP forum. I read that PCIe cards are installed when additional USB ports are needed. There seems to be two empty slots on the back of my computer, below the graphics card. I cannot find the answer on the internet, yet. Does anyone know whether an appropriate PCIe card can be added and the technical description of the card so that I can order it? Thanks for your replies.

hi

if it is this model

875-1023 Product Specifications
you can see all available connectors front back

Shire motherboard specifications.

  • USB Type-A 3.1 Gen 1 charging port
  • USB Type-A 3.1 Gen 1 port
  • Headphone/Microphone combo port
  • Microphone port (Audio-in)
  • Power button

Shire back I/O ports

  • S/PDIF
  • USB Type-A 3.1 Gen 2: 1
  • USB Type-C 3.1 Gen 2: 1
  • USB Type-A 3.1 Gen 1: 4
  • RJ-45 (Ethernet)
  • Audio: Line in (microphone)
  • Audio-out jack
  • Audio-in jack

the motherboard obviously has a single 16x pci port occupied by the graphics card

it is therefore not possible for you to add a pci card
You can however buy a usb hub, there are different models on the market
