My wife purchased the HP All in One 24-f0010 for my son for his birthday without seeing if it would run his online games and record. The program he likes to use to record requires a separate graphics card. Since there is a DVD installed on this system, I would assume that I could swap it out for a graphics card but I can't find any information on whether it is possible and what card is compatible.
Can anyone tell me if its possible to add a graphics card to this machine and if so, what card is compatible.

Greetings B0Dell,
Welcome to the forum.
I am not an HP employee.
This is a very interesting question. I can't give you a definite answer but this PC's motherboard shows a custom M.2 graphics card connector.
Generally AIOs and laptops are not upgradable but use integrated Intel or Nvidia/AMD chips.
Curiously, your PC specs only reflect the Intel UHD Graphics 605 option.
Maybe HP Support can supply an answer.
I have not come across any M.2 graphics options to date. It would be tricky to add an M.2 to PCIe x16 adapter to run an Nvidia 1060 in a desktop as an experiment. The dimensional constraints of an AIO amplify the problems to getting something like this to work.
If they exist it would be interesting to see how much power an M.2 graphics option requires as PCIe x4 slot power delivery is limited. This fact would limit the capabilities of this graphics option. This means if an add-in M.2 graphics option exists it may not help in your situation. Your son needs a more powerful graphics card.
Maybe custom M.2 graphics cards are the wave of the future.

Thanks for the reply. The M.2 port in this machine is used by the wireless card, so it's already taken. I have seen specs on some other HP AIO's that include upgrade options, but this particular machine doesn't mention it. The DVD writer looks like it slides out and that's where a card would go in a laptop, which is why I'm wondering if that's possible with this machine.

I didn't notice that was a link. Thanks. I see there are three M.2 ports on there and one specifically for a graphics card. That's awesome. Thanks for the help. Now if I can find a video to show how to get this thing open without breaking anything.

I guess I have to figure out if there is a way to use that slot at all. I forgot you questioned the existance of M.2 graphics cards, but there the slot it. That does give me something to start looking for, or maybe to hope for in the future.
