My hp laptop battery needs to be replaced however I cannot replace it before a month, meanwhile if my battery drains out completely will I be able to switch on my laptop by putting it on charge? Note that plugging it to a charger is not boosting the battery but just not letting it deplete either.

If your notebook runs on the charger with the dead battery, you can use it until you can replace the battery.

Do not leave the power adapter plugged in when you are not using the notebook, or that may cause the dead battery to swell and cause stress on the internal PC components and the notebook's case.
