Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have the HP Compaq DC7700 Convertible Mini-Tower(CMT) with Windows 7 SP1 on C partition, and WinXP Pro 64 bit on D partition.

 

I have bios Version Hewlett-Packard 786E1 v01.16, 8/17/2011

 

Is there a later version of the bios for my machine?

Any BIOS for the  786E1 Family will work on your motherboard.

Sorry, don't see any BIOS updates for your PC subsequent to 2011.

Does that mean that only one from this list works on my machine?

There are several in 2011 for 786E1 version. 

 

1.16 rev a 11oct2011

3.07 rev a 11oct2011

4.02 rev a 14mar2011

1.06 rev a 21dec2010 <<<<<< this is current bios as show in my OP.

Does that mean the   3.07 rev a 11oct2011  or  4.02 rev a 14mar2011 should work?

As long as they are for the exact BIOS family that your PC's motherboard has installed they will work.

 

A word of caution about upgrading BIOS. Only upgrade if there is a good reason to update, not just because you can. Many people have bricked their PCs and notebooks because they did not quite understand that. BIOS updating is always a risk. The risk is far less if the PC or notebook has the modern UEFI platform.
