Envy Phoenix 810-160
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The fan over the CPU is amking noise and I think it needs to be replaces.  The fan has four wires that plug into the motherboard.

I am unable to find a 4 wire replacement fan.

1.  Is the fan part of the heatsink and both have to be replaced?

2. Can just the fan be replaced?

3.  Will a 3 wire fan work if I am unable to get a 4 wire fan?

Can use some expert guidence here.  Thank you.

Hi:

The fan and heatsink are sold as an assembly.

However you don't need to remove the heat sink.  Just swap out the fans.

Here is the parts list for your PC.

You need part number 644724-001

HP does not sell the part.

I took the liberty of doing a search by the HP part number and here is a list of this item for sale on eBay.

It appears to me that some folks have removed the fan from the heat sink and are just selling the fan, and some are selling the whole shebang.

You can buy one on Amazon too.
