Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I would like an advice on how to decrease the cpu temp...cpu load 67%...I am working with Flash player, multiple browsers, broadcasts, Android emulators...and temps go as high as 90C...ambient room temp 24-25C

I attached a picture..I would appreciate an advice!

Also core temp get to 83C and in 1 sec to 70C...then again at 85C and low to 75C...such big difference in such short time.

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

 

I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:  

Step 1: Removing dust and lint by cleaning vents
Step 2: Ensuring proper space for ventilation
Step 3: Updating the BIOS

Step 4: Testing for hardware failure.

 

Refer to this Article in order to troubleshoot this issue. ( Though it says Notebook, the above-mentioned steps are valid for desktop pc )

There is no dust in my PC...its brand new -as it is only 3 weeks old ...I used the canned air spray anyway a few days ago..It is located on the wooden floor (not on carpets) and it has plenty of room around it.The BIOS was updated to the last version since I bought the PC ...

Testing for hardware failure come with no failure at all...there are no lockups, only overtheating and throttling.

I also tried to tighted the screws to the cooler..still the same.

I must say that this overheating happened since the day I bought it!!!

If I dont stress it too hard with my work...it does not pass 76-78C...but that's one of the reasons I bought it...to be able to handle my workload.CPU load doesnt pass 71% anyway

I read the artcile you suggested.

Use the following steps to identify corrupt processes that might be consuming CPU time.

The screens vary slightly depending on your version of Windows. You will still see a Processes tab and CPU column.

  1. Close all open Programs and save your work.

  2. Press Ctrl, Alt, Delete, and then click Start Task Manager or Task Manager, depending on your version of Windows, to open Windows Task Manager.

  3. Opening Windows Task Manager
  4. Select the Processes tab, and then to sort the processes by CPU load, click the CPU column header.

  5. Look through the list for suspect processes.

  6. To find more information about a process, search the Internet using the process name that displays in the Windows Task Manager. Look for information that mentions the issue through other reports and suggests steps for resolving the issue.

There are no corrupt processes my idle CPU is 0-1%.Throttling and overheating occures when I broadcast online using Flash Player with 3 different browsers and running an Android Emulator in the same time...Cpu Load 53-60% max 71-73%.

I know each and every process is running.Also scanned antivirus/antimalware...so its not the case here..

I am assuming its a bad cooling solution or thermal paste...in this small case where airflow is not as good as in a regular case!

It's warm. Too warm if you ask me, especially if it's brand new and not heavily loaded at all times.

What's the highest temperature you see?

Perhaps it's not as bad as you think?

 

Still, it's rather warm, I think? My 6-series i5 (OK, it's i5, I know) in mmy Omen rarely gets above 60, I think?

The Highest temp I saw was 96C....but thermal throttling starts at 94-95C...and the speed is reduced beucase of overheating..loosing performance, FPS everything untill temp gets back to normal.

Ok if its not that bad...why I get overheating message in AIDA64 and throttling...untill cooler speeds up and take it below 83...then if i continue I see spikes 84-85C...then back at 72C.Lifespan of the CPU can be reduced beucase of heat!

 

Its different with the 8th generation....than the 7th...also more cores...and Laptop chips can support for heat...this is a desktop computer
