Hi everyone. I present to you my problem. I purchased this pc. that you see on my profile a
HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-1035nl PC |
but without processor. I still have to order the 32GB of RAM and 2TB of M.2 SSD. For now I have only received the processor. On the box it says that it is compatible with this family of chipsets but I don't know what to do. I haven't completely assembled it yet. just the processor. but searching on the internet I only found 65w.. but this is a 125w.. it could influence in some way or.. the power supply, video card and motherboard are the same..
i look the motherboard pro h510m-b. but I think I should change the power supply too. I remain available for a configuration. that is, what could be good. PC case, power supply, motherboard..ram.. cpu heatsink

According to this discussion, it does not appear that the i7-10700K would be supported.

I'm going to ask @NonSequitur777 to join in because if anyone knows he would, and he wrote in May that up to the i7-10700 would be supported.

Yes, thank you, my friend, this is an interesting question.
Even though I mentioned that according to the specs the best possible processor compatible with a Baker motherboard (SSID: 8767) would be an i7-10700 / i7-10700F which have 65-watt TDPs, I noticed that the heatsink provided with the TE01/TG01/TP01 desktops is rated for 95-watt processors.
@Blackowl98, digging a little bit deeper, and to cut to the chase: I discovered that the Baker motherboard is, in fact, compatible with Intel 10th gen 95-watt processors, specifically the i5-10600K and the i7-10700K, as can be seen here with a related (Baker motherboard) PC: HP Pavilion Desktop TP01-1xxx Performance Results - UserBenchmark.

Hi, thanks for the very long message. very detailed. but the i7-10700k that I mounted without my knowledge on paper says it has 125w.. so my question is the following. I don't risk anything? or you advise me to switch to the m510-b as the motherboard. the power supply is a 400w from the manufacturer.. from what I also read in your friend's message, the motherboard supports TDP up to 65w..

You are correct: the i7-10700K and i5-10600K indeed have a 125-watt TDP, and what I misread was that these processors have a 95-watt "Configurable TDP-down" operating mode. Not sure how or if you as a user can set that mode on your PC.
Nevertheless, these Intel 10th gen "K" processors are compatible with the Baker motherboard, but in order to adequately cool these CPUs, would likely benefit from a more robust heatsink. If you are interested in going that route, I could provide some suggestions for a beefier heatsink. Your power supply question is a good one: even according to TechPowerUp, the minimum power supply recommended with an RTX 2060 onboard would be a 450-watt power supply. Your power supply upgrade option is a 500-watt power supply with p/n: L05757-800, widely available online, such as eBay.
