However, can I assume that any of the CPUs on the list will be compatible with my motherboard, bios and chipset?

I don't believe so.

You have to look at the link I posted in my first reply, and buy a processor that is supported by the form factor of the PC you have (CMT, SFF, or USDT).

For example...I see the i7-3770S processor listed in your screenshot, but the list shows that processor is only good for the USDT form factor, and conversely, the i7-3770 would not work in the USDT, as that is only good for the CMT and SFF form factors.

I found that there is a small Intel I3 core sticker on the front of the PC. So I realized that my PC has been refurbished by switching from an I3 CPU to I5 2400. So if I read the list of CPUs in your first post and considering the form factor, I will be able to choose between the following types: I7-3770, I5 -3570, I5-3470. My question now is this, if after replacing the CPU the PC restarts and does not report errors, can I believe that the update was successful?

Hi:

If your PC is the CMT or SFF, those processors should work, and if the upgrade was successful, the PC will boot up and work fine, just like it is now.

The 2.90 BIOS version your PC currently has installed is not the oldest one possible.

I believe there were some older versions, so if you don't want to update the BIOS, I don't think it is necessary when installing any of the 3 processors you listed.
