If possible, Im looking for the cheapest/most sensible way to improve the performance of this economy unit. Every things seems to work as expected, no complaints there, but it load some things pretty slowly.
Can I upgrade the ram, what kind of ram should I look for, and if I do so will that have an impact on performance/speed it up, or am I wasting my time?

Here is the memory that is recommended by Crucial Memory. The only difference that I can see is, they state that the maximum memory is 32 GB and HP limits it to 16 GB. You will see that they sell their memory in kits. This means that they match. If you keep the memory that came with the computer, you should make certain that the new memory is the same speed.

@NVMRX, welcome to the forum.
Here is the Product Specifications page for the computer. It will give you an idea of which components can be upgraded. One component that would make a big difference is installing a SSD. It shows that you can use from a 80 GB to a 160 GB SSD in the specifications. Just look at the components that are installed and look at the ones that can be used above them. This will most likely be an upgrade.

Hi Provost,
I'm just looking for the least expensive way to give it a little boost, thinking that adding ram would be the way to go.
Given my setup, I need to know if adding ram will be beneficial. It has 16g capacity, but I get the impression 8g would max out my potential.
I need an opinion on how much (gig wise) and how many sticks (2@2g each or one 4g, or one 8g, etc.), and what type of ram.
Or perhaps you have another approach altogether?
thanks

Thank you for the additional information, @NVMRX.
Memory is always a good way to increase performance. The more memory the better. Here is the Maintenance and Service Guide for the computer. On Pages 180 and 181 is the Memory section. It will tell you all that you need to know. As you will see, the maximum memory for the computer is 16 GB. It tells you how you can populate the slots. It is best to install matched sets since the motherboard supports dual channel architecture.

"It is best to install matched sets"
Please define matched sets. I believe we saying that, if I intend to keep the 2g sticks I already have installed (I assume there is one in channel A and one in channel b), in order to maintain dual channel mode (highest performance), that it's necessary, for example to use (two) 2g sticks rather than 1 stick of 4g, or (two) 4g sticks rather than on 8g stick?
In order to achieve 16g, my current 2g sticks would have to be replaced?
