Pavilion 590-p0117cb
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hey there, I'm trying to see if I can help my nepehw upgrade his pc ( HP Pavilion 590-p0117cb )to something he can play games on. He wants a new pc but this one seems perfectly fine other than a few things. The CPU is an 8th(8400) gen i5 which is good enough I think, but I was wondering if I could change the motherboard? Or is that too much? I don't know too much about how to do this but I've tried to read up on it. I was hoping to get a GTX 1050ti gpu and be good with the psu. And I was also hoping to add another 8gb of ram. I think that would improve it drastically but I'm unsure.

@Escobar720,

Rather than disappoint your nephew:

1) Games have requirements. Please list 2 of the desired games. No sense making an upgrade that would fail.

Would work: Monster Hunter: World System

Exceeds your system  Resident Evil : Biohazard 2 RE:

Try a few game titles and get the requirements, it will test your machine and report back.

My spreadsheet lists 590 series LINCS board tested with 400W L04618-800,  which has a PCIEx16   6+2 plug.
