Hi...
I have a couple of z620 workstations, a single-cpu v2 and a dual-cpu v1. I'm planning on upgrading the CPUs and was wondering if the extra CPU board from the v1 machine is compatible with the v2? i.e. can I use the board from the v1 machine to make the v2 machine into a dual-processor box?
Thanks!
Joe

Hi Joe,
The simple answer is yes. There is only 1 variant of the optional Z620 CPU riser board so it will work with both the v1 and v2 motherboards.
The v1 motherboard has a 2011 boot block date, the v2 motherboard has a 2013 boot block date. You will find the boot block date in the BIOS, or you can simply run HP Performance Advisor in Windows where you can find it under BIOS Settings > File > System Information.
