Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-2400MHz-Desktop-Memory/dp/B017NW5NZY/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid... I am wondering because some games are stuttering because of only 8gb of ram.

i recomend at this point you visit the steam forums for these games

as the issue seems to be game programing related and not a HP software or hardware issue

it says its 288 pin but also says that its SDRAM PC100, DDR 400 and im not really all that tech savy so would it work and would my 300w power be ok with it?

i doubt it's ram related, the more common issues are disk speed (get a SSD) or video card related, you can try lowering the game/video settings and if this stops the stuttering, then a newer/faster card is the solution (if your system can take a video card upgrade)

I upgraded the HDD To a SSHD which solved some games stuttering but some still do here are my specs

CPU: i5 7400

GPU GTX 1060 3gb

Ram: 8gb (7.93 usable)

And VRAM is not being used up in games and I've tried lowering settings in games it stutter for example GTA 5, Watch Dogs 2, Batman Arkham Knight,Batman Arkham Origins, Fallout 4

all of the game you mention are multiplayer games that connect to the internet for multiplayer/single player

have you checked your internet speed and latency?  both are important as even a fast connection with high latency will cause issues with online games

none of the games you mention require or recomend more than 8GB ram

and just which settings have you lowered?

i recomend you read all of the pages on the link below

I usually play these games single player but my internet is 100mbps from spectrum and I usually get over that with 20ms ping on Watch Dogs 2 I've tried putting every setting to low and the other games I've mentioned the stutter is noticeable and just plain annoying and I usually turn on vsync to cap my fps at 60. These stutters are really bad in watch dogs 2 the others will run at 60fps and randomly drop down in watch dogs 2 it will basically freeze when it stutters and it says in the top right not enough free RAM for stable frame rates I usually have my setting at high or very hight

have you changed the windows "Page Ram" default setting? people do this thinking it makes the system faster (it does not)

however setting the recomended page ram settings to the largest recomended "STATIC" size can show a slight improvement over the default "dynamic" setting

what do I set for initial size I put 1911 for maximum as that's my recommended
